It was designed first and foremost and only for EAM and CMMS systems. And it is the only tinyURL service that sells to that market, let alone being optimized for your needs.
They are tiny HTTPS strings: This means that the QR codes can be read from the maximum possible distance.
They can redirect as your assets, or other entities, change. A QR code on the equipment can be used by the new owner/renter, this means that manufacturers can put on high quality codes that can be used for the equipment's lifetime.
When you change servers, or you change CMMS/EAM suppliers - the QR codes on your assets etc.., continue to work, you simply change the redirect rules.
What can you do with them? That depends on the quality of your CMMS/EAM software. But in general:
Does your software not do all the above? If not, you should be using better EAM/CMMS software, check out the links to suppliers/software below, they support all of the functionality above..
Maintenance Connection CanadaAre you using software like SAP and would like a solution added that gives you some or all the above and/or Admin and Technician solutions that work both when you have an internet connection and when you don't? Check out the suppliers below to get the solution you need.
Maintenance Connection EverywhereAre you a CMMS/EAM software author/owner? Do you want this for your product, do you want to be listed below? Talk to ITIQPro (see below), we'd be happy to work with you to add this - and many of our other innovative solutions that work both offline and online and have been in use by major companies like Honeywell, NASA, Airports, Property managers, warehouses, Logistics manufacturing and more as well as Federal, State/Provincial and Local Governments since 2003.
Talk to usDon't be! These are designed to be used by QR codes and then redirect to YOUR software. They are not intended to be memorized by humans (though some might to memorize one or two if they want). QR codes are ubiquitous, people know how to scan them to be automatically redirected to your software, and in other cases the exact same QR codes are scanned in a specific location so that their use fits the need of that location. No need to 'remember' that it is ea0.cc
E- Enterprise
A - Asset
0 - Ground zero, as in where it can be found
.cc - as in "carbon copy" as in, this 'tiny url' is a cc that takes you to the asset, user, Work order, Project, Procedure, Purchase Order or anything else you need it to.
And it is short. Coming in at only 6 characters including the . which means that when you add your unique code, your QR code will be able to have the least density possible.
Because you want everyone on your team to be efficient.
Because you don't want to be tied to one vendor for your CMMS/EAM needs forever
Because you want to be able to make server (URL, domain) changes without having to go and relabel every device
Because without this, you probably don't even bother because you know it won't work long term!
